POSITION PURPOSE: Maintain, repair and troubleshoot all plant electrical, distribution and control systems and installation of new systems and equipment. Perform preventative maintenance on all systems as required to ensure plant reliability. Maintains plant records as required, maintain good housekeeping and assist other plant personnel as needed. Perform all tasks in a safe and productive manner. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Maintain, repair and troubleshoot All plant electrical, distribution and control systems. Installation of new systems and equipment, including retro fits. Making appropriate log entries, assisting in other areas of the plant as required. Maintain safety, housekeeping, sanitation and disease control Requirements while performing job duties. Assist with ordering materials and supplies. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: Recommend purchasing of tools and electrical replacements parts. Provide production with time estimates on repairs. Assist in cost estimates for capital projects both labor and material. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must a minimum of three years of experience as plant electrician in a processing environment. Must have knowledge of S/C variable frequency derives and programmable logic controllers. Must be self- motivated and able to work in a wet, cool and sometimes unpleasant environment with a minimum of supervision. Must be able to read and write in English and have good math skills. Must have a demonstrated history of dependability, particularly with regard to safety and attendance. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to work from ladders and elevated platforms. Must be able to work in confined and elevated spaces. Must be willing and able to work various shifts, over time and non-standard work times. Must have own tools.
