Amentum Logistics Specialist in Kennedy Space Center, Florida

PURPOSE and SCOPE:

Under general supervision, responsible for all activities relating to receiving, storing, issuing, ordering, and delivery of government and company owned, parts, materials, and equipment. Utilize vehicles and material handling devices to facilitate the safe loading, unloading, and transportation of parts, materials, and equipment. Interface, process, and expedite supply, logistics, and transportation actions between departments/sections. Performs duties in compliance with Federal, State, local, NASA and Space Force laws and regulations and requirements and KSC/CCSFS energy management conservation regulations, collective bargaining agreements, security, safety, hurricane and other specialized programs or contractual requirements relating to the business of the section, working within the limits of established policy.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify spares within Maximo that are no longer required and coordinates spare excess/deletion.Maintain all inventory data and report files in Maximo.

  • Establish maximum/minimum levels and bench stock requirements.Maintain, coordinate, and administer inventory control and property management actions and procedures.

  • May assist in the inspection of facilities and support systems to ensure that contractual responsibilities are properly fulfilled.Identify, investigate, make recommendations for the resolution of property and logistics issues.

  • Coordinate and establish realistic stock level to ensure cost effectiveness of parts and supplies required to sustain maintenance responsibilities.

  • Maintain logs and records, as required.Maintain proper records of all forms of transactions relating to logistics operations.

  • Maintain certifications, licenses, permits, etc., required for performance of assigned tasks.

  • Contact other organizations and customer representatives to coordinate inventory activities.

  • Initiate and process inventory records in accordance with established procedures.

  • Review documentation for accuracy and completeness and take necessary action to correct inventory record deficiencies.Assist in the development, planning, and implementation of logistics policies and procedures.

  • Prepare various status reports to maintain inventory accuracy rate, number of line items adjusted, and net variance history and report information.

  • Maintain technical data and any other documentation performance of all tasks.

  • Report all variances to management.Inform management of any developments affecting the proper storing, handling, and transporting of equipment and material items.Investigate delays and recommend action to management.

  • Refuel vehicles and stationary equipment. When refueling, check water, oil, battery and lubricate, as required.

  • Use ropes, slings, cables, tarps, and covers to secure and protect loads.

  • Make proper tie-in with other shifts, as necessary, and maintain written logs.

  • Arrange for local purchase and pick-up of critical items not available through normal channels to meet schedules.

  • Set up bins, racks, and storage areas and maintain in a clean, organized manner.

  • Compare quantities and identification of items received with applicable documentation and adjust discrepancies according to established procedures.

  • Perform any other related and/or associate duties in this classification, as required by management.Perform work in other classifications when incidental but necessary to accomplish work assignment.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

High school or equivalent, plus three years of experience in material planning, material control, logistics operations, or related field. Experience in MS Office products including intermediate MS Excel. Must possess ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. This classification may include managing hazardous materials or other environmental responsibilities. Must be able to lift 40 pounds. Must have current driver license. May be required to possess valid State of Florida Commercial Driver’s License (Class A). US citizenship is required for unescorted access to restricted work area(s). Must be able to successfully pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
