Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

  • 70%-80% of the role is sheet metal, weldment design using SolidWorks

    • R&D
  • Additional responsibilities include:

  • Talking and managing suppliers for sourcing new parts and components

  • Working with Operations to consult on building new lines and dFMEa

  • Working with operations to launch new products and install new systems

  • Utilize knowledge of engineering design principles to generate sound designs that meet customer needs in terms of safety, innovation, and utility

  • Develop, evaluate, and validate designs to meet product requirements and cost targets through design reviews

  • Establish a foundation for success in manufacturing by implementing and utilizing built-in quality (BIQ) and design for manufacturing (DFM) practices

  • Manage engineering changes for both new machine design and existing products

  • Detail technical drawings, weldment technical drawings, assembly prints, and specifications that enable the production team to correctly fabricate, weld, and assemble all engineering outputs

  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to turn proprietary designs into real factory outputs by optimizing design for manufacturing methods, material selection, and material flow

  • Support new product releases, including engineering, manufacturing, and field commissioning

Hard Skills

  • Solidworks or 3D design with any software

  • Strong GD&T knowledge

  • Project Management

  • Assembly and manufacturing

  • Sheetmetal and weldment design
