Eaton Corporation Global Manufacturing Strategy Senior Manager in Kings Mountain, North Carolina

Eaton’s Mobility Group is seeking a Global Manufacturing Strategy Senior Manager. The preferred location for this position is Southfield, MI, but it could be based at any of our US Mobility Group sites, including Southfield, MI, Athens, GA, Galesburg, MI, Marshall, MI, Indianapolis, IN, South Bend, IN, Carol Stream, IL, Kearney, NE, Kings Mountain, NC, or Roxboro, NC. Relocation assistance to one of these sites is available.

In this role, you will report directly to the Director, Global Operational Excellence - Mobility Group, and will be the global champion defining and continuously improving the product line value stream maps in 25+ Sites/Plants across our four regions. You will lead by identifying and proposing solutions to address key strategic issues, bottlenecks and restrictions related to growth and business continuity.

In this role, you will promote strong partnerships between the manufacturing sites/Regions and Product lines looking toward the next 5-10 year business results. Partnering with Product Line and Regional Leaders, you will be responsible for designing and deploying the manufacturing roadmap for the Mobility Group and will lead multi-year planning in connection with the strategic plan. You will work closely with global product line leaders, manufacturing engineering experts and executive leadership in defining a vision and strategy for Manufacturing and articulate them at the level of Regional and Global Presidents and Vice Presidents.

What you’ll do:

In partnership with 6 Product Line Global leaders, Regional Operations VPs & Directors, you will:

• Layout a footprint plan aligned with core product lines based on a long term business strategies

• Mapping the value stream for each Product Line in VG, E-mob and RPS aligned with business priorities (profitability, competitiveness, new launches, new spaces, attritions).

• Implement global capacity by product and plant by clearly identifying production bottle necks and restrictions, defining core processes that will drive a global make and/or buy strategy;

• Managing a global Capital Plan ( $100M/year) to drive growth, productivity and infrastructure for all 25+ Plants in 4 Regions;

• Define Advanced Manufacturing Engineering core competencies, map Global and Regional current structure, run a gap analysis proposing a roadmap to close them towards business sustainability.

• Based on core competencies and core processes, define and implement Global Councils to drive improvements and deploy technical knowledge to support growth and sustainability;

• Defining a vision and strategy about Manufacturing based on Strategic Plan inputs, and present to Regional and Global VG Presidents

• Lead a complete review of core processes per each product line and propose a make and/or buy strategy aligned with the required capacity and both Manufacturing and Supply Chain strategies.

• Responsible for continuous review of the Advanced Manufacturing engineering core competencies driving actions to build right level of knowledge to support the introduction of new products and footprint change sustaining key results like profitability and competitiveness.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree from an accredited institution.

• Minimum of 10+ years of manufacturing/program manager experience over operations, manufacturing engineering, and footprint strategies.

• Experience in a global, industrial manufacturer with a preference on direct Vehicle industry/market expertise.

• Background in lean manufacturing / six sigma and process modeling.

Preferred:

• MBA strongly preferred.

• Significant hands on experience with large new product and program launches on a global scale in a highly diverse environment.

• Knowledge of both the tactical and strategic side of manufacturing strategies and experience in footprint programs.

• Experience in Continuous improvement programs, Safety and Quality Management Systems

Operations management experience in different business models like: low mix / high volume, high mix / low volume and engineered to order environments.

• Experience with multiple key processes (fabrication, stamping, molding, electronic, etc.).

Skills:

• Subject matter expertise in all relevant areas of manufacturing engineering.

• A variety of project management and execution experiences including restructuring projects related to footprint.

• Cross Functional and cultural team experiences.

• Significant hands on experience with large new product and program launches on a global scale

• Experience with advanced manufacturing engineers (machining, grinding, assembly, special processes), including high complexity equipment purchase and installation.

• A successful candidate for this position must have knowledge of applicable laws and regulations covering Eaton’s business operations.

• Ability and willingness to objectively tackle complex high-level operational challenges using a practical combination of traditional and innovative methods.

• Strategic (macro) perspective when analyzing trends or planning for the future.

• Tactical understanding of near term or local impact of broad strategic decisions on operational efficiency.

• Professional presence with the confidence and leadership ability to convey need and vision at all levels.

• Strong collaborative bias towards recognizing and assembling the right team to accomplish the corporate objectives.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $153749.97 - $225499.96 a year.
