Opportunity

Under the direction of the Global category Director, the Product Mgr – Small Diesel (<600kW Diesel Generators) is responsible for the development, profitability, growth, and maintenance of the assigned industrial product lines for the Americas. The Wisconsin based Product Manager – Small Diesel responsibilities include the development, profitability, growth, and maintenance of the Small Deisel Generator product portfolio. This includes strategic market and financial planning, competitive analyses, product development support, product specifications, cross functional project management, cost reductions and aftermarket product support. Works closely with Engineering, Sales, Operations, Finance, Quality and Channel Marketing to improve competitive position and increase market share.

Other competencies associated with primary function and scope are as follows:

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of the Industrial and Mission Critical customer, channel, and competitors

  • Demonstrate high-level presentation/communication skills

  • Manage across functional areas to see the “big picture”

  • Understand operational, manufacturing, supply chain and NPD processes

  • Familiarity with application of distributor/specifier/product research methodologies

Specific Responsibilities

  • Analyze, identify and aggressively target growth opportunities in Americas’ industrial generator markets based on input from regional marketing, sales, distributors, engineers, contractors and end users.

  • Conduct market research focusing on identifying key accelerators and inhibitors to market growth and end user demand for this product.

  • Based on field input write marketing product specification for most effective product solutions for each unique market.

  • Establish and lead cross-functional teams for the development of high-quality products that meet the needs of the customer at target cost and on schedule, as well as the sales and marketing tools necessary for the promotion and sale of the products.

  • Product, financial and strategic planning of assigned industrial genset product line(s), including financial justifications of new products and programs.

  • Identification and development of new markets and products to grow the business and increase company profitability. Define and justify new products and programs based on market research.

  • Manage industrial genset product revenue, margins, and profitability by increasing market share, controlling product costs and establishing product pricing.

  • Develop and implement marketing and advertising programs to promote the product and the company through the direction of Communications and Technical Publication teams.

  • Develop sales training materials for all channels.

  • target key competition. Leverage our competitive resources /advantages and exploit competitor weaknesses to gain market share.

  • As the “expert” in the assigned product line make product presentations to key customers including national accounts, end users, contractors & specifying engineers.

  • Provide Program Review to Executive Management monthly

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Marketing; MBA preferred

  • 5-10 years of product experience in Industrial Power space

  • Strong preference for candidates with experience in diesel engine industry

  • Data-driven and results-oriented

  • Excellent written and verbal communications

  • Excellent marketing knowledge with strong analytical and presentation skills

  • Highly organized, drive deadlines

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)

The salary range for this position is $107,650 - $137,150. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
