Project Engineer, Continuous Improvement

Work Mode: Hybrid

Location: Hybrid at Kohler, WI

Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager- Logistics Solutions this position is responsible developing and driving solutions that will improve operational performance, quality and customer satisfaction. The position will also support DC productivity metrics, inventory slotting, automation utilization and CI project management. Additionally, the Logistics Analyst will work to maintain inventory accuracy through reconciliation between SAP and Blue Yonder.

Specific Responsibilities

Functional skills:

  • Develop, implement and manage CI processes and initiatives

  • Train and motivate front line operators towards achieving quality, productivity and service targets.

  • Utilize Lean and other CI tools to identify areas of improvement and develop solution action plans.

  • Identify Industry and network best practices that can be documented and implemented across the DC network

  • Use a variety of data sources, including SAP and Blue Yonder to identify trends and improve efficiency through slotting/re-slotting items to balance workload and maximize throughput

  • Analyze data to identify consolidation opportunities to support and assist building leadership with capacity management

  • Analyze Automation utilization, capacity and throughput to improve mechanical and systems productivity.

  • Monitor outside/offsite storage inventory when applicable

  • Research quality claims, identify root cause and provide recommended solutions

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering or Management

  • 2-3 years experience in Logistics Operations, Warehousing, Manufacturing or other front line operations business.

  • Experience in Lean/Six Sigma or other continuous improvement initiatives is highly preferred

  • Candidate should also have excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to engage and motivate cross-functional teams.

  • Basic knowledge in SAP, JDA/Blue Yonder WMS systems preferred.

  • Microsoft Skills (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) are required. Accelerated MS-Excel experience is preferred.

  • Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills are required.

The salary range for this position is $69,800 - $87,950. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
