The position isSales Leader– ASEANfor our Honeywell General Safety & High Risk business, based in Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia andwill report to General Manager, SPS ASEAN/ ANZ and will lead the ASEAN General Safety & High Risk Products Sales team.

This business leadership role will be responsible for a complete Sales performance while leading a reporting team of in country sales leaders & Sales support team and working closely with cross functional team of marketing, customer service, technical support/ product support, finance, human resources and integrated supply chain for Honeywell Safety & Productivity Solutions. The goal of the position is to drive profitable above-market growth by implementing strategic & tactical business initiatives and manage a complete portfolio General Safety & High Risk Products across ASEAN region.

The ASEAN Sales Leader is responsible for:

Business Management

  • Lead the business to achieve the sales and operating income targets for each year.

  • Drive the strategy roadmap and annually create the 5 year STRATEGIC PLANNING for the business to ensure faster growth than market and faster operating income conversion.

§ Enable the execution of key Strategic Planning (STRAP) initiatives through the principles of Honeywell Operating System with transforming Strategic Planning (STRAP) objectives into the X-Matrix tool to drive flawless execution.

  • Functionally lead the team to develop the right process and measures to ensure superior service to customers and drive for higher productivity/ profitability for the business.

  • Work with the Functional Heads, Sales Head, Regional Managers to understand customer needs/ sales opportunities, vendor / supplier capabilities and margin/ cost implications in pursuit of sales and profitability.

  • Provide leadership to the Sales Leader for managing sales and channel expansion.

  • Align sales with marketing to actively manage the product & channel strategies are in line with customer segment.

  • Drive new geography sales expansion in ASEAN, new market within ASEAN and within that across all cities, aligned with channel-product-sales strategy.

  • Provide leadership in setting the product, marketing and sales promotion strategy vis-à-vis customer segment positioning.

  • Build and drive core Channel Management capabilities for each Product Line.

  • Ensure expansion of Customer Base in each of the Product Lines and ensure Sales Revenue and Gross Margins for each Product Line

  • Developing tactical marketing that includes all aspects of channel strategy & operational management, channel requirements analysis and competitive/ profit maximizing pricing tactics.

  • Understand, define and segment customers and develop the right cost to serve model, product/ service offering that maximizes the ROI on any new product development.

  • Work with the ASEAN marketing team to develop mechanisms that capture voice of customer and then translate it into customer segment specific product offering and sales strategy.

Leadership & People Management

+ + Provide inspiring leadership and vision to the ASEAN General Safety & High Risk Team which lead the team to thrive for peak performance

  • Build strong trust-based relationships with managers to be their counsel for supply chain and customer support costs, processes and day-to-day management

  • Recruit and lead high performance team with strong employee engagement and well establish career development and succession plan.

  • Interact with HR and its different centres of excellence (ODL, Training, Staffing, etc) to learn, implement and share best practices.

  • Drive the development plan of all top talents through individual development plans, mentoring and conducting skip level meetings

Key attributes of successful candidates will include:

Work Experience

  • At least 12 years of total experience of which 3+ years of leading a business or being part of a Leadership team with direct accountability to driving revenue and profitability; managing a high performing sales team with proven track record of high growth and margin expansion will ensure the candidate has the right credentials to take on this responsibility.

  • Proven experience in driving different sales models – Key Account Management, Channel-Distributor led sales management, Channel-System Integrator led sales management; all of which primarily in a business to business product environment managing a complete fully engaged business model with a variety of products sales ranging from long cycle to short sales cycle.

  • Proven experience in working closely with a peer group comprising of cross function leaders in Product Marketing, Working Capital, Customer Service, Technical Service, Supply chain and logistics experience; with ability to cohesively work together with an integrative approach to meet goals.

  • Developed a business opportunity as a start up or ensured high growth of sales to expand presence across a high growth market faster than the industry and ensured a high share of demand.

  • Prior work experience/ exposure in SPS General Safety Products priority verticals – Construction, industrial, mining, manufacturing etc

  • Demonstrated ability to develop a long term Strategic business plan; demonstrated capability to execute in line with plan, influence or directly manage resources and investment across multiple functions.

  • Experience in working with global executives, corporate strategic marketing teams to develop a long term Strategic business plan; demonstrated capability to execute in line with plan, influence or directly manage resources and investments.

  • Strong business acumen, leadership, and strategic program execution skills, process driven with strong analytical mindset.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills as it relates to disseminating and gathering information to staff and management and marketing to prospective clients or business partners.

  • Strong analytical problem solving ability; rigorous and resourceful with a pragmatic approach - applying 80-20 rule and coming up with directionally sound logic to navigate through limited data situations.

  • Ability to assume ownership and responsibility for complete operations and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Flexibility in terms of dealing with changing priorities and dealing with multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork and problem-solving skills in order to deal with customers, business partners, staff and management from a variety of skill levels as well as different authority levels within the organization and customer’s organizations.

  • Ability to assimilate complex ideas and detailed information into elegant, written, spoken and visual communications.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business Study from within the region or globally preferred.

  • Possess strong Office Automation Product knowledge (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
