Job Summary:

Trane Technologies has an exciting opportunity for an onsite position in our Engineering Test Laboratory in La Crosse, Wisconsin as a Machine and Fabrication Shop Supervisor supporting Trane Applied Compression and Trane Commercial HVAC testing. Your primary function is to supervise a team of machinists and Fabrication technicians in Trane Applied Compression, Commercial Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (Commercial HVAC) products. The job requires leading, problem solving, and collaboration with product team members to ensure timely completion of New Product Development (NPD), sustainability, quality improvement, and agency compliance projects. This position is salaried.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure self and team members work safely while maintaining a safe work area in accordance with company policies and procedures

  • Plan and align team resources in machining and fabrication supporting product development testing for Trane Applied Compression and Commercial HVAC projects

  • Talent Management – recruit, mentor, and motivate team members while maintaining an engaged team approach with the rest of the organization. Work closely with the team members to define and support personal development plans

  • Lead, sponsor, and support implementation of productivity, quality, and capital expenditure projects which continue to enhance our world class Trane Commercial HVAC and Applied Compression Laboratories

  • Ensure budget is responsibly maintained

  • Support and drive continued growth and expansion of new machine and fabrication equipment; and explore new technologies, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or 2-year equivalent technical degree and 10+ years of work, education and/or supervisory experience in related field

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) required

  • Previous supervisory or project team leadership experience is preferred

  • Self-starter with the ability to lead in a fast-paced team environment and build cross-functional partnerships

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of complex variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

  • Ability to understand, follow, and author current work instructions and applicable test standards

  • Experience with machining and fabrication equipment, product design, lab equipment, testing practices, or work in operations environment is preferred

Base pay for this position is $75,000 to $115,000.
