Job Summary:

This Senior Product Design Engineer position includes responsibility for designing and managing the Water-Cooled Chiller product lines. This role will lead cross-functional teams over multiple disciplines with an objective to discover problems that need to be resolved and then find innovative solutions to those problems.

Where is the work:

Due to the nature of this role, this position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule, with work performed onsite 3 days each week.

Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):

  • Apply interdisciplinary engineering expertise to solve system design and product application problems.

  • Plan and direct the efforts of engineering and technician teams to meet performance, reliability, quality, cost and schedule objectives.

  • Support sales order attainment by providing custom design modifications.

  • Support field and factory problem resolution.

  • Conduct laboratory testing as required.

  • Some overnight travel (less than 10%).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and at least 8-years of mechanical design or HVAC/R work experience is required.

  • Associate's Degree in a technical discipline and at least 10-years of mechanical design or HVAC/R work experience is required.

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree is preferred.

  • Master's Degree in Engineering is a plus.

Key Competencies:

  • Must be proficient in problem-solving, HVAC/R fundamentals and project management.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Windows PC literate and proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products.

  • Design or application experience with HVAC products, thermodynamic computations, pressure vessel design, compressor, motor, controls or heat transfer technologies is a plus.

  • Data & Analytics, making data driven decisions and programming knowledge is a plus.

  • Ability to apply heat transfer and fluid flow concepts for real world problem-solving.

  • Understanding of finance as applied to project justification and budgeting.

  • Skills in motivating and directing individuals and teams.

Compensation Range:

Annual Compensation Range is $68,000 to $145,000 annually. Disclaimer : This salary range is based on US national averages. Actual pay could be a result of seniority/experience level, merit and geographic location where the actual work is performed.
