We are currently hiring a Voice Data Communications Technician who will be focusing on the installation and maintenance of Voice and Data communications infrastructure, data center cabling, copper and fiber optic cable, network component replacement, Audio/Video systems, wireless systems including emergency paging and Meraki Access points in office and plant environments. This position has been designated as On-Site at our La Crosse, WI plant. This role has been designated by the Company as Safety Sensitive.

Where is the work:

This position has been designated as onsite.

Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain Cisco VoIP endpoints, network devices and related communication hardware.

  • Perform limited repair of telephone and other communications equipment.

  • Install, terminate, and maintain voice and data communication cable including copper and fiber optic in buildings, underground and aerial applications.

  • Interrogate and repair damaged or impaired cabling.

  • Assist in office and factory communications rearrangements as required.

  • Install and maintain AV systems in conference rooms on campus.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Relevant training in voice and data communications or 3-5 years minimum work experience in the field

  • Understand basic electrical concepts, low voltage wiring distribution and basic data networking.

  • Possess a strong mechanical aptitude including the ability to read and understand architectural drawings and wiring schematics.

  • Possess good verbal communication, critical thinking, troubleshooting and basic PC skills including the use of Microsoft applications.

  • Requires specific vision abilities, including the ability to differentiate between colors, ability to lift 50 pounds and effectively work to heights of 45 feet using lifts and ladders.

Base pay for this position is $55,000-$60,000.
