Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

This role involves maintenance in the production area. The candidate will fix various machine issues, mostly caused by operator error. Tasks range from simple adjustments to complex disassembly. Daily tasks include repairing photo-eyes, sensors, gears, motor boxes, VFDs, servo drives, and pumps. All machine parts are controlled by HMI touch screens with Allen Bradley PLCs. The job requires 50% mechanical and 50% electrical repairs, along with some TIG/MIG welding on stainless steel and custom fabrication work. The role will also involve working with new automated equipment like packaging and shrink-wrapping machines, focusing heavily on electrical issues.

This is a fully on-site position in La Porte, Indiana.

Work Environment

Food manufacturing environment. The maintenance crib is not climate-controlled, but the production floor is. Proper PPE, including beard and hair nets, is mandatory. Clothing should not have plastic buttons, and only plain wedding bands are allowed. The facility has a candy-like smell. The production maintenance department consists of 13 people across 3 shifts.
