The Water Resources Program *within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a *Dam Safety Engineer (Environmental Engineer 3) (In-Training) position. This position can be locatedin our *Headquarters Office inLacey, WA {rel="nofollow"}or our *Northwest Region Office (NWRO) *in *Shoreline, WA{rel="nofollow"}. Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.

Please Note: If the final location of this position is determined to be in our Northwest Region Office (NWRO) in Shoreline, WA{rel="nofollow"}. there will be an additional 5% pay increase due to its location in King County. In this instance the salary range will be $5,895 - $9,195 per month. 

 

Ecology's Dam Safety Office regulates nearly 1,100 dams in the state of Washington. As the Dam Safety Engineer, you will protect public health and safety by ensuring that these dams and their associated elements are properly designed, constructed, and maintained. You will review engineering design reports and construction plans and specifications as well as conduct periodic inspections of both current and proposed dams to ensure they are properly built and maintained. Your work in this role will take you across the state as you conduct both in office and field work throughout the year. This position allows you to progress through the *Environmental Engineer field and achieve the goal class of an Environmental Engineer 3 (EE3). Candidates will be considered at the EE2 *and the EE3 levels, depending on their qualifications.
