Job summary:

As a member of the Power Systems and Controls Development team within LPSD, you will be serving as an experienced individual contributor, working in a fast-paced environment to develop Caterpillar engine systems for use in CAT Machines, Electric Power, Industrial, Oil &Gas, and Marine applications.

The primary responsibilities will include leading LPSD’s EUV In-Service Monitoring (ISM) program and certification process ownership for LPSD gas and dual fuel engines. You will be expected to provide regular updates to management and technical leadership on the status of programs and process changes. You must be able to develop strong peer relationships and collaborate with global teams.

What you will do:

  • Lead LPSD EUV ISM program – collaborate with platform teams, product support, commercial product groups, testing supplier, dealers, and customers.

  • Develop engine rating development goals that meet regulatory and internal requirements

  • Create and deliver technical reports including describing Auxiliary Emissions Control Devices (AECD)

  • PRC process ownership and approval

  • Communicate technical information to customers and internal technical leadership and management

  • Collaborate with a global team across multiple functional areas

Skills you must have:

  • Products and Services: Extensive knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply knowledge of product and service appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Technical Excellence: Extensive knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.

  • Influencing Through Expertise: Extensive knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.

  • Project Management : Expert level knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

  • Team Management: Extensive knowledge of effective team building techniques; ability to form and manage effective teams.

  • Requirements Analysis: Extensive knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.

  • Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Extensive knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.

  • Product Design and Development: Extensive knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.

  • Education: Bachelors Degree in an accredited engineering curriculum

Top candidates will also have:

  • Technical knowledge and experience in engine testing, calibration, simulation, controls, or design

  • Deep understanding of NPI processes and practices

  • Demonstrated ability to make priority decisions while working and leading multiple projects simultaneously

  • Master’s degree (or higher) in an accredited engineering curriculum
