JOB SUMMARY

Supervises employees responsible for guarding site premises of a complex property. On a routine basis, monitors security team performance to ensure security requirements are met. Sets policy for access control of the building. May be required to set parking regulations and manage reporting of fire and safety hazards. Reports a typical situations to senior level management. May oversee the use of electronic surveillance equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promotes positive public relations by ensuring security team is offering courteous service to all tenants, visitors, and guests.

  • Supervises security staff, assigns/monitors work assignments, and ensures training is provided pertaining to security operations.

  • Responsible for hiring security staff personnel. Manages security scheduling and payroll functions.

  • Oversees the control of access to buildings and monitors activities of visitors. Also, oversees the monitoring of building operations and tours of properties

  • Monitors building operations; investigates, reports and maintains records of security related incidents occurring on property.

  • Maintains on-going communications with Property Manager, Building Operations Manager, and other building services related staff regarding site operations.

  • Manages security budget. Monitors scheduling and time reporting functions. Maintains security training and scheduling records.

  • Provides leadership for emergency response at the property or site.

  • Maintains and updates security manual and emergency procedures.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of all current building, fire and life safety code requirements to comply with local and national regulations.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime.

  • Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies.

  • Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Applicant would have served a minimum of 05 years in the military, law enforcement or similar agencies. At least three years experience in a security management position. B.A/B.Sc in a security related field or equivalent.

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

Meets local or national security staff certification requirements

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate complex figures. Ability to forecast and prepare budgets. Conducts financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have an intermediate knowledge of Word Processing software; Excel spreadsheet software and Internet software. Ability to walk/stand 8 hours per day, operate an extinguisher, lift 50 pounds, and effectively transport and adult in an evacuation chair or similar transportation equipment.

Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to co-workers, supervisor, department and/or line of business.
