Job Purpose

The Corporate Philanthropy (CP) Data and Finance Specialist executes the data and finance needs for the company's corporate philanthropy program, facilitates the charitable grant making process across locations, leads select volunteer projects, and maintains relationships with charitable and community organizations in their respective business location. This individual is responsible for making all charitable payments, budget reporting, and other administrative duties. The CP Specialist works in tandem with the Corporate Philanthropy team to provide data needed for a unified and cohesive philanthropic strategy across the company.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Oversees all charitable payments, including bi-annual grants.

  • Manages the corporate giving budget, including tracking expenses, invoices, and payments along with a monthly reconciliation.

  • Oversees adherence to Jackson’s purchasing process and CP budget objectives for all philanthropic payments.

  • Reviews and settles associate donation match requests and Dollars for Doers incentives in YourCause.

  • Maintains and provides reporting in two software platforms (CSR Connect from Blackbaud and Blackbaud Grantmaking) for the CP team and various company reporting.

  • Triages nonprofit grant questions and provides project management for grant process action items with local CP Managers.

  • Oversees and prepares annual giving summary reports for nonprofit board members.

  • Oversees inventory of promotional items and records all in-kind donations from the company.

  • Manages select Lansing-based volunteer events and in-kind printing requests.

  • Oversees and produces the monthly CP Dashboard and leads the team through discussion on trends.

  • Produces bi-annual management reporting on grants by charity donations and overall giving.

  • Leads communication and manages distribution of local athletics tickets and suite catering.

  • Provides administrative support to the department, including the department Vice President.

Other Duties

  • Ability to work beyond normal business hours (evening and weekends) as required.

  • Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Interest in the Financial Services Industry and knowledge of local community.

  • Knowledge of corporate social responsibility and corporate giving programs.

  • Proficient in all applications of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Knowledge of or ability to learn data analytics software (i.e. Tableau or Power BI).

  • Financial analysis and/or budget auditing and reporting skills.

  • Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently.

  • Tact and good judgment in confidential situations and ability to interact professionally with senior management.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Superior oral and written communication skills and excellent telephone etiquette.

  • Extremely organized and detail oriented with a high level of accuracy.

  • Excellent prioritization skills and ability to learn quickly.

Qualifications

H.S. Diploma or equivalent required.

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred.

3+ years of financial analysis and/or budget auditing and reporting experience required.

Knowledge of corporate social responsibility and corporate giving programs preferred.

Knowledge of data analytics software (i.e. Tableau or Power BI) preferred.
