Job Title: EHS Engineer

Job Description

The EHS Engineer provides strategic direction and leadership for the Environmental, Health, and Safety teams and initiatives. The EHS Engineer is responsible for escalating issues to plant and executive management when EHS initiatives are not being met. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic leadership at the plant level for various environmental, health, and safety initiatives to maintain and enhance the firm's reputation as a proactive, best-in-class corporate citizen.

  • Ensuring continuous improvement in EHS innovation while maintaining compliance with all legislated EHS regulations and standards.

  • Chairing and participating in internal organizational teams and committees that help develop the environmental and safety mission, policies, and goals.

  • Serving as an agent of the company and a representative/liaison to a variety of external entities, including federal, state/province, and local agencies, customers, suppliers, industry-related groups, and various nonprofit, educational, government, and community entities.

Job Type

This is a contract position with an initial contract duration of 9 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Lansing, Michigan.

Work Environment

Shift: 1st, but must be able to support all 3 shifts as we operate 24 hours. Locations: Primarily buildings on Grove Rd, with responsibility for our service department in Holt (only 9 employees, approximately 1 day every other week).
