A Carter Lumber Production Manager is responsible for implementing the vision, strategy and leadership which drives production to ensure quality products are produced in a timely and efficient manner. Ensures performance quality and safety objectives are met while minimizing expenses. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary to this position.

Requirements

  • Previous management experience in a manufacturing  environment

  • Strong understanding of the production of millwork and doors

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing methods and process  improvements

  • Possess knowledge in scheduling and shipping  methods

  • Ability to use good judgment in analyzing, troubleshooting and evaluating  problems

  • Exceptional written and oral communication  skills

  • Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and  Outlook

    Responsibilities

    Management

  • Oversees all aspects of production for the Door Shop Departments.

  • Ensures that high standards of quality, safety and service are met.

  • Sets the overall direction for production through long and short term goal planning and ensures budgets are being  met.

    Production

  • Ensures that all areas in production of doors, millwork and moulding are running in an efficient manner.

  • Ensures that departments are meeting quotas, material waste is low and production is timely.

  • Works closely with the Customer Service Department to ensure that production and dispatching are coordinating properly.

  • Focuses on custom millwork to ensure that customer specifications and high quality craftsmanship are met.

    Safety

  • Directs and facilitates best practices to ensure safety standards are met during production.

  • Ensures that all machines and equipment are being properly used and maintained.

    Reporting Relationships:  The Production Manager reports to the General Manager. Door Assemblers report to the Production Manager.
