Description of Job

Job duties consist of the following:

  • Facility maintenance of animal holdings and handling facilities, maintenance of existing structures and fences.

  • Operation of Bobcat equipment, outdoor power tools and skilled knowledge in operating a variety of shop tools.

  • The care of large mammals including feeding, maintaining feed stocks, and pen cleaning in accordance with facility protocols and federal animal welfare regulations.

  • Grounds-keeping duties including: Snow removal, mowing, herbicide application, re-seeding native grasses, chainsaw and weed whipping.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Position is not able to accommodate a class schedule during work hours of 8:00am to 4:00pm.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Must have a current & valid drivers' license or reliable transportation

  • The work-site will provide some uniform items, however the employee may be required to purchase limited uniform items at their own expense.

  • Must be willing and able to work 40 hours per week with occasional weekend and holiday hours.

  • Must be available to work short shifts on weekends and holidays.

  • Must be available to work varied shifts (Monday through Friday with occasional hours on weekends and holidays).

  • Ability to work with limited supervision and work well within a team.

  • Must be willing and able to work outside which may involve inclement weather.

  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds repeatedly during the course of a workday.
