Lake County Government Human Services Director. in Leadville, Colorado

POSITION: Human Services Director.

DUTIES: The Human Services Director, is responsible for carrying out a variety of state and federal programs in Lake County on behalf of the State of Colorado. This includes numerous state assistance programs such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Old Age Pension (OAP), Home Care Allowance (HCA), Colorado Works (TANF), Colorado Childcare Assistance Program (CCCAP), Child Support Services, Child Welfare, Adult Protection, and Prevention Programming for youth at risk of child welfare involvement. The Department of Human Services is also responsible for determining eligibility for Health First Colorado (State Medicaid) and Emergency Service Function 6: Mass Care and Mass Shelter in the event of a disaster. REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Behavioral Sciences, Human Services, Education, Business or Public Administration, or a related field that has included coursework in management of human services programs is required, master s degree strongly preferred. Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in human services programs.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: An equivalent combination of education, formal training, lived and work experience that produces the knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the essential duties/responsibilities of the position. Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver s License and satisfactory driving record. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: As part of your duties as a county employee, you may be called upon to perform duties outside your day-to-day activities to support county emergency operations. All county employees are required to complete National Incident Management System (NIMS) training within the first 6 months of employment. Must be willing to submit to a background screen.

PREFERRED: A master s degree is strongly preferred. Experience working within the public sector, especially local government, is strongly preferred. WAGE: The salary is $90,000 to $100,000 annually dependent on experience and qualifications.

SHIFTS: This is a Full-Time, Exempt position working primarily Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. Actual days and hours to be discussed at interview.
