Manager of Project Management

KBR’s global business comprises two main segments – Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) and Government Solutions (GS). This role sits within STS in the Integrated Solutions business unit. Integrated Solutions is the engineering and project delivery group providing services which include front-end and detailed engineering, procurement, construction services, and program management primarily in the hydrocarbons and energy transition industries.

KBR is looking for a Manager of Project Management to support the delivery of projects across the Integrated Solutions business in Leatherhead and Internationally.

The KBR Integrated Solutions business is seeing sustained growth across a range of energy projects and project phases.

The role would be ideal for an individual with experience of and a good understanding of the application of project management to capital projects in the energy sector.

Reporting

Reports to: Director of Projects

Job Responsibilities

Project and Proposal Delivery Support

  • Oversee project and proposal delivery for a subset of projects within KBR’s delivery portfolio.

  • Organise monthly project review sessions for the Leatherhead based project portfolio

  • Monitor project compliance with KBR Procedures

  • Support implementation of off project Quality, Engineering, Procurement and Construction audits / peer reviews

  • Undertake project management audits and peer reviews as required

  • Work with KBR proposal group to co-ordinate delivery of operations input into proposals

  • Co-ordinate production and maintenance of Project Profiles and Project Management Group CVs.

Project Management Tools & Processes

  • Support development and delivery of the strategic year plan each year.

  • Act as owner for an initiative within the strategic year plan, with full responsibility for delivery of agreed outcomes.

  • Input into the continual update of the KBR Project Management Procedures as required.

  • Support enhancement of the KBR project management toolkit.

  • Lead further digitalisation integration of the KBR project management toolkit to support enhancements in Project Delivery, Governance and client reporting.

  • Work closely with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commercial, Project Controls and Quality to ensure alignment across interfaces and strategic enhancements.

Team Management

  • Support Director of Projects in recruiting project management resources based in KBR’s Leatherhead office.

  • Support Director of Projects in undertaking development and performance reviews of the project management team

  • Support development and delivery of training materials for development of project and commercial management capability across KBR’s global office network.

  • Montior and report on the Project Management groups compliance with mandatory and nominated training requirements.

  • Support identification and curation of online training courses within the KBR catalogue to support team development.

  • Mentor potential future project management talent to support future succession.

    Skills / Experience:

Essential

  • A relevant number of years' experience of working within an engineering contractor environment.

  • Track record of successful project leadership, with profit and loss responsibility.

  • Demonstratable understanding of project delivery processes and tools in context of large capital projects (capital expenditure in excess of 50mm USD).

  • Experience of working on legacy energy projects such as on/offshore upstream oil & gas, piping, LNG, downstream, refinery, petrochemical.

  • Experience of work share with India based Project Delivery Offices.

Desirable

  • Project execution experience across multiple countries.

  • Brownfield project delivery experience.

  • Experience of energy transition and zero carbon projects (blue / green hydrogen / ammonia, circular economy etc).

  • Appreciation of the interfaces with process licensors.

  • Additional language aligned to key market(s) such as German, French, Dutch, Norwegian or Arabic.

Work Location

  • Leatherhead, Surrey, UK.

  • Potential for home working (maximum 2-days per week, subject to business / project needs).

  • Occasional business travel to KBR Offices / Client locations internationally.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree.

  • Post-graduate qualifications in engineering (such as having reached CEng or equivalent Status) or project management (such as a standalone master’s degree or those awarded by PMI or APM).
