Senior Electrical Designer

KBR’s global business comprises two main segments – Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) and Government Solutions (GS). This role sits within STS in the Integrated Solutions business unit. Integrated Solutions is the engineering and project delivery group providing services which include front-end and detailed engineering, procurement, construction services, and program management primarily in the hydrocarbons and energy transition industries.

KBR are looking for a Senior Electrical Designer (staff) to join the electrical team in Leatherhead with a focus on 3D modelling, lighting design and cable routing.

Your core responsibilities and duties are as follows:

  • Involved in projects from concept to detailed design through to construction, testing and handover.

  • Working in a multi-disciplinary project team, which is likely to include engineers and designers from other specialism’s including piping mechanical, structural, civil and instrumentation. liaising with clients and contractors;

  • Taking an active role in the design of electrical distribution system and input into layout discussions, drafting, designing and sizing equipment.

  • Select and apply the relevant codes and standards applicable to the electrical systems design and hazardous areas.

  • Interfaces with other designers in other disciplines.

  • Development of MTOs

  • Cable routing and cable sizing

  • Heat Tracing design.

  • Lighting design and lighting / power equipment layouts in 2D and 3D.

    Skills & Experience :

  • Familiarity with software including Aveva E3D (PDMS), Dialux, Microstation, Autocad.

  • Ideally the successful candidate will have gained experience in an oil and gas industry however, candidates from a manufacturing and/ or maintenance and design modifications background will be considered.

  • Candidates should have previous experience in the hydrocarbons and energy transition industries .

Educational Experience:

  • A minimum of an HNC in Electrical Engineering with relevant industry experience.

  • Qualification to become EngTech or IEng qualified by the IET.
