Dartmouth Health Program Coordinator (hybrid) - Standardized Patients in Lebanon, New Hampshire

Overview

Operational oversight of the standardized patient program within SBER and collaborates with department managers and directors with recruiting, training, and scheduling standardized patients in support of PSTC and DH learning activities. Coordinates contracted events, and participates as needed. Ensures participants' safety; implementing effective, healthcare simulation standards of best practice; and the accurate and timely completion of administrative actions, content development, professional development, financial reports, purchasing actions, and invoicing.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, modify, and maintain instructor-led and/or Standardized Patient based training classes, workshops, and presentations in alignment with SBER SP Program mandates.

  • Collaborate with internal and external Subject Matter Experts to ensure session objectives are met efficiently and effectively.

  • Develop and deliver professional development for DH and external stakeholders.

  • Create, modify and/or maintain training materials, resources and presentations related to education of health professions via Standardized Patient simulations, skills labs, and other SBER educational programs.

  • In collaboration with department managers and directors, work to develop standard operating procedures for use within the simulation center.

  • Work in conjunction with internal and external staff to ensure all required information and training materials are available for trainings in the PSTC and external training sites.

  • Support SP staff to ensure job requirements, such as annual competencies, clocking procedures and administrative task are completed in a timely manner.

  • Collaborates with faculty, external or internal staff, and department managers for training of standardized patients to specific cases for performance.

  • Collaborates with faculty and staff for planning of standardized patient events.

  • Coordinates and implements standardized patient program for the campus including recruiting, training, scheduling, evaluating standardized patients and compiling reports.

  • Coordinates implementation of standardized patient encounters, digital audio/video recordings, student debriefings, and evaluation of standardized patients, performances, and checklists.

  • Manages audio/visual recordings for all SP events, schedules recording sessions, troubleshoots issues with A/V system, tracks status of recordings during testing events.

  • Coordinates and supports learners and SPs in the use of SimulationIQ software.

  • Member of D-HH committees as assigned.

  • Participate in the SBER and CLPD accreditation processes as required.

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of administrative or project management experience required.

  • Experience in performing as Standardized Patient or Medical Teaching Associate strongly desired.

  • Experience working with diverse individuals and communities.

  • Strong computer skills required.

  • Ability to work independently, assess priorities and organize workload.

  • Excellent communication skills required.

Required Licensure/Certifications

  • DH Yellowbelt training within 6 months of hire

  • AHA BLS Instructor Certification within 90 days of hire

  • Relevant simulation/standardized patient certification within 2 years of hire
