DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Fiscal Assistant, you will assist with weekly, monthly, and year-end accounting reports, as well as assisting with accounts payables and verifying vendor invoices to ensure proper payment.  You will prepare journal entries for applicable transactions and complete data entry into the CAPS system to include transactions for TANF, Social Security, IV-E, and Domestic Relations payments.  Strong attention to detail is vital, as you will be maintaining a variety of database spreadsheets, processing subsidies for payments, and performing general banking transactions.  You will work closely with vendors and service providers to ensure accurate and timely submission of reports.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 40 hours/week. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or An associate degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by 6 credits in accounting; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Berks, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, or Schuylkill counties.  If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
