Cracker Barrel Instructional Designer in Lebanon, Tennessee

The Instructional Designer researches, creates, and designs instructional programs for classroom presentation and/or computerbased training in support of business initiatives and skills development across the organization. This includes consulting on project teams and working in close partnership with key stakeholders across roles and departments to develop comprehensive training strategies to achieve key organizational objectives and metrics.

Responsibility

• Leverage a variety of methodologies, blended learning approaches, and learning design best practices with an emphasis on real-world application relevant for adult learners in a business environment.

• Partners with members of management as an internal consultant to research, design, develop, and measure various training programs; and, educates training personnel on instructional design methodologies and theories.

• Assess, analyze, and update training programs based on needs to improve performance and productivity.

• Develop training manuals, materials, and aids ensuring material accomplishes the stated learning/organizational objectives.

• Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer.

• Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product.

• Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts.

• Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process.

• Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc.).

• Maintain project documentation and course folders.

• Support ad hoc projects and assignments, as needed.

Qualifications

Experience and Education

• Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong oral and written skills.

• Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.

• In-depth knowledge of instructional design and adult learning techniques.

• Experience in Articulate 360 and Storyline Training Software

• Experience in working with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and In Design

• Experience creating targeted content that generates measurable ROI

• Experience in video course creation and script writing

Environment and Working Conditions

• If you are local to the Middle Tennessee area, this is a hybrid role; onsite Monday-Wednesday with remote flexibility available on Thursdays and Fridays. If you are not local to the Middle Tennessee area, this role has the ability to be remote with occasional travel to the Home Office.
