Ensures the appropriate development, validation and use of analytical methods. Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and oversee multiple projects. This role is part of a team responsible for quality control of laboratory processes and reporting of data. Daily tasks may involve the following: scheduling Level 1 and 2 Lab Analysts for assays, ordering and checking in materials for studies, reviewing data for transmittal to clients, solving problems that arise in the analysis process, and acting as direct supervisor for Level 1 and 2 Lab Analysts.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting and data processing/reporting results and approve or reject sample analysis

  • Identifying deviations and directing investigation

  • Performs data review for quality control

  • Has a thorough understanding and complies with GxP and other appropriate regulations

  • Identifies and reports irregularities identified with any aspects of work

  • Economically utilizes, tracks, and orders materials in operation of daily tasks

  • Ensures on-time task completion to support the overall goal of on-time study completion

  • Assists in the organization and housekeeping of the laboratory studies

  • In study planning and lab scheduling of flow cytometry team (daily basis)Understands the scientific principles behind analysis methods utilized

  • Takes initiative in process development and writes SOP's and work instructionsSolving problems in the analysis process

  • Keeps current and seeks to grow knowledge in analysis field through scientific journals, training, on-line study, etc.

  • Guidance and coordination of validation, method development and analysis of projects

  • Trains/Mentors Level 1 and 2 Lab Analyst

  • Responsible for overall preparation of projects (materials and documentation)

  • Lead of data review investigation

  • Reviewing study documents (i.e. study plans and reports)

  • Works as part of management team to introduce and create improvements of current operational lab systems/processes to increase efficiency

  • Responsible for final approval of data, and assists the PM with transmitting data to clients according to client contracts and documentation

  • Functional manager duties for multiple direct reports

  • Has oversight of purchase order process for multiple projects, including estimating supply needs, and creating orders.

  • Uses the learning management system to assign project-specific training to team members and tracks training compliance.

  • Communicates with project manager about all aspects of the project

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Bachelors degree in a scientific field with 3-5 years of laboratory experience.

  • Experience looking at Flow Cytometry data is highly preferred.

  • Experience with GLP or other quality systems.

  • Excellent written communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and exhibit appropriate time management skills.
