Description

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Tax Manager in the construction industry. This position is based in Lewisville, Texas, and will require the successful candidate to manage payroll operations, cooperate with the tax team, and handle issues related to IRS notices and state taxes.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the tax team to address various tax issues at federal, state, and local levels.

• Assist in the reconciliation of IRS notices.

• Manage and organize outstanding notices in cooperation with relevant departments.

• Regularly communicate with the IRS to address late payments and other concerns.

• Correct discrepancies in 941 and 940 filings.

• Manage an increased workload in Labor & Compliance.

• Provide assistance with daily operations when necessary.

• Use payroll-related software such as Viewpoint Vista and UKG Pro to streamline operations.

• Apply knowledge of payroll tax reporting, returns, and deposits to daily tasks.

• Use knowledge of IRS regulations and procedures to ensure compliance.

Requirements • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Payroll Manager or similar role in the construction/contractor industry.

• Proficient in payroll tax reporting, payroll tax returns, payroll taxes, payroll tax deposits, and local payroll tax.

• Knowledge and experience in IRS regulations related to payroll.

• Proficiency in using payroll software such as Viewpoint Vista, UKG Pro, and UKG Ready.

• Comprehensive understanding of federal tax laws and regulations.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is preferred.

• Professional certification such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is an advantage.
