POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This specialized position will be responsible for working closely with potential and licensed treatment foster families and treatment youth in Allen, Auglaize and Hardin counties.

 

This position will be part of the recruitment team and will be responsible for targeted recruitment and tracking of treatment foster homes; assist in coordinating, planning and attending community awareness and orientation events; be involved in media presentations; assist in developing information materials, and assist in developing and implementing various methods of recruitment within the tri-county area. This position will process and track all foster/adopt inquires, adhering to required timeframes; discuss the process and work closely with potential families to assist them through the licensing process to become a treatment foster home. Additionally, this position will train potential foster and adoptive parents using a trauma-informed curriculum; monitor licensed treatment foster homes (e.g., schedules foster/adoptive parent tasks, assists with interviews and recommends licensure, recommends solutions to program violations, evaluates foster/adoptive parent performance, receives, and handles program complaints) and complete recertification requirements in partnership with the licensing county. This position serves as the leader of the treatment team and is responsible for the treatment team components which includes the development and review of treatment service plans, scheduling and facilitation of treatment team meetings, case management (including weekly contact and bi-weekly face to face home visits); development of discharge plans; coordinates respite care. This position will ensure the treatment foster parent(s) are adhering to and facilitating the youth's treatment service plan effectively in the home setting; works actively to involve the youth's parents in treatment meetings, plans and decisions and to keep them informed of the youth's progress with the plan; coordinates and provides services for children whether placed or in need of treatment placements. This position will be part of the Treatment Crisis Intervention Team. Together with other professional staff, as designated by the agency, will provide after- hours support to treatment foster parent(s) and treatment youth. This position will attend/participate in meetings in which policy questions are reviewed/discussed; assist with the development of policy and recommend policy changes; develop foster/adoptive program operational policies and procedures; advise Treatment Foster Care Program Leader, assigned program team and Family Support Program Administrator on a regular basis of foster/adoptive parent activities and concerns; attend regional meetings and prepare various reports as assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Pay Range: $20.95-$26.51 per hr

 

Hours:

  • 8:00 a.m. -- 4:30 p.m.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or closely related social services degree

A Master's Degree in Social Work is preferred

A high degree of knowledge regarding child welfare laws, procedures and policy

Minimum of two years experience in child protection or outside similar experience

Must have completed or will complete the Assessor Series training within two years of being employed

Must complete 6 hours of applicable continuing education training every two years based on the date the Assessor Series Training was completed

Must complete at least 15 hours of annual training specific to treatment foster care issues and the mission of the agency, including behavioral modification and trauma informed training
