Robert Half Staff Accountant in Lindenhurst, New York

Description Our client is seeking a dynamic and driven Staff Accountant to join our reputable team. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of professional experience with emphasized proficiency in general ledger, monthly close procedural assistance, basic cost accounting, and bank reconciliations.

Responsibilities Highlights include:

  1. Daily management of the general ledger.

  2. Assist in the monthly close procedures, maintain and analyze the trial balance, and the preparation of financial statements and reports.

  3. Conduct basic cost accounting processes and tasks.

  4. Prepare and analyze daily/weekly/monthly bank reconciliations.

  5. Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts.

  6. Develop and implement appropriate procedures for financial management and record-keeping.

  7. Review the budgets/forecasts calculation of monthly budget deviation reports and cost updates.

  8. Assist with ad hoc reporting and other special projects, as necessary.

Position Requirements:

  1. Degree in accounting or related field.

  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience

  3. Strong knowledge of general ledger and cost accounting.

  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software and financial software applications.
