Today’s dynamic global security threats require solutions both big and small – solutions living within the Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC). The Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) department is seeking Systems Engineer to join our team and develop these technologies into high-performance computing systems. You’ll work in a fast-paced team environment alongside physicists, design engineers, and superconducting foundry engineers to make these technologies a reality.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with the team to identify best practice processes and apply those to the team.

  • Collaborate with technical leadership to ensure technical direction aligns to team roadmaps and execution plans.

  • Communicate stakeholder and team requirements to drive the frequent delivery of value.

  • Coordinate and prioritize the needs for multiple projects across multiple teams.

  • Manage stakeholder and team expectations of the technical requirements.

  • Helping the team understand processes and systems for work organization.

  • Leads project schedule, risk, and cost.

  • Understands how to breakdown work and create schedules with team inputs.

  • Provide scope and priority clarification in the schedule planning and status meetings.

  • Communicates key dates and milestone progress to technical leads.

  • Collaborates cross organization to learn about technical objectives.

  • Collaborate with the modeling and simulation team to create and refine work.

  • Support preparation and presentation of demonstrations to stakeholders.

  • Ensure the work is visible, prioritized, maintained, and reflects reality.

  • Support the team in identifying in their roles and responsibilities.

This position will serve on-site in Linthicum/ Annapolis Junction, MD.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in computer science, business management, systems engineering or related degree plus 9 years of experience, or a master’s with 7 years of experience, or 4 years with PhD.

  • US Citizenship with a current active TS/SCI with poly clearance per business requirements.

  • Demonstrated experience with CAM.

  • Experience with technical project management.

  • Excellent communicator, strong schedule execution, work breakdown, and team leading experience.

  • Able to pivot, maintain an open mind, and lead highly technical teams with the systems process and project management.

  • Be comfortable and thrive in a continuous improvement environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with modeling and/or simulation software.

  • Experience in creating roadmaps and schedule for milestone delivery.

  • Has a Product Manager certification (or higher) with Productside / 280 Group, Scrum Alliance, Scaled Agile, Scrum Inc., ICAgile, or any other major Agile training association specific to the Product Owner role.

  • Experience being a project manager in other Agile teams using Scrum or similar frameworks.

  • Has held story mapping and/or product discovery workshops with stakeholders and development teams for backlog generation.

  • Hands on experience managing all stages of the project management life cycle (from discovery to release).

  • Able to explain the differences between cost, schedule, and quality.

  • Extensive experience with Atlassian tool suite (Jira and Confluence).

Salary Range: $127,000 - $199,600

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
