Navistar, Inc. Category Manager – Stampings, Fuel Tanks and Air Tanks in Lisle, Illinois
Position Overview
Navistar's Procurement Team has an immediate need for a Category Manager – Stampings, Fuel Tanks and Air Tanks. The Category Manager is responsible for working collaboratively with the category team and engineering on new product development programs.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute the sourcing strategy for the assigned category to align with Navistar’s business objectives
Research industry trends, global markets, benchmark data, understand cost drivers and emerging technologies
Lead a cross functional team of sourcing specialists, forward sourcing managers, supply chain, finance and program managers to implement strategic initiatives
Lead strategic sourcing decisions for both new product launches as well as current business for improved cost, quality, or delivery opportunities
Identify and develop new cost reduction opportunities using variety of procurement levers
Build strong strategic partnerships with suppliers to ensure that product quality, on time delivery and service levels are met. Build and manage relationships with cross functional team members and management
Facilitate communications between external suppliers and various internal departments to resolve queries or issues
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree
At least 8 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
1 year lead experience
OR
Master's degree
At least 6 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
1 year lead experience
OR
At least 10 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
1 year lead experience
Additional Requirements
- Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt to various situations and audiences as needed
Ability to function and work with cross-functional teams and prioritize competing interests
MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams
Ability to travel 20-30%
Preferred Skills:
Experience in Automotive, Heavy Truck or Heavy Equipment Manufacturing industries
Experience in procurement, manufacturing or engineering of sheet metal stampings or fabrications
