Navistar, Inc. Project Engineer in Lisle, Illinois
Position Overview
Navistar R&D has an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer.
In this position you will be responsible for defining and implementing Aftertreatment Devices and associated sensors and actuators, to Traton Product Development Process.
Responsibilities
Managing relationships with Suppliers
Support the definition of system limits on aftertreatment sensors, actuators, and system configurations.
Complete reports and presentations to communicate findings, draw conclusions and give recommendations on next steps
Recommend, develop, and execute on continuous process improvement to improve product quality, reliability, and durability of the aftertreatment system
Collaborate with other functional teams such as Procurement, Supplier Quality, Program Management and other Engineering Functions
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
At least 5 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
OR
Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
At least 3 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
OR
- PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
Additional Requirements
- Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
Desired Skills
Strong knowledge of heavy-duty diesel emissions regulatory requirements including diagnostics
Detailed knowledge of current diesel exhaust aftertreatment technology (DOC, DPF, SCR & DEF)
Knowledgeable with Excel, Matlab or other Data Processing Tools
Management or experience leading other engineers
