Navistar, Inc. Supply Continuity Manager in Lisle, Illinois

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Supply Continuity Manager to join our Navistar Procurement team.

This position will support the implementation of supplier development strategies to significantly improve Navistar global supply base, including support of critical supplier capacity, manufacturing, supply chain and delivery issues to ensure the continuity of supply to our customers. Additionally, the position provides a critical role proactive supplier readiness for volume increases, product launches and alternative sourcing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage with Navistar suppliers and supply chains to improve on time delivery and mitigate long term constraints

  • Focus on low performing suppliers and drive actions to resolve the root cause of low performance

  • Develops and implements actions and strategies with suppliers, procurement, supply chain, engineering and quality to address supplier capacity, manufacturing and supply chain constraints

  • Support Navistar Material Planning and manufacturing facilities team on complex supply plans; analyzing and developing shipping plans utilizing air/sea/land freight to meet manufacturing requirements

  • On site supplier problem solving as needed, containment set-up or production monitoring on a need-to-support basis

  • Ensure timely implementation of permanent corrective actions and resolution

  • Move easily between big picture thinking and managing relevant detail

  • Anticipate stakeholder needs, and develop and discuss potential solutions, even before the stakeholder realizes they are required

  • Maintains consistent and clear communication with executive leadership and key stakeholders on status and resolution of critical supplier issues

  • Conducts in depth data analysis on projected supply chain impacts weaving in gap closure plans; able to simplify complex data for executive status reports 

  • Ability and desire to progress into supervisory and/or people manager positions

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree

  • At least 8 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience

  • 1 year lead experience

OR

  • Master's degree

  • At least 6 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience

  • 1 year lead experience

OR

  • At least 10 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience

  • 1 year lead experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
