Job Summary :

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hospice Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our hospice care team. The CNA will provide personal care and support to patients in hospice, ensuring their comfort and dignity during their final stages of life. You will work closely with nurses, social workers, and other care team members to enhance the quality of life for patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.

  • Provide basic nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse.

  • Monitor and report changes in patients' conditions to the hospice nurse.

  • Assist with turning, positioning, and mobility to ensure patient comfort.

  • Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and families.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients.

  • Assist with light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation as needed.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and patient condition.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the State of Michigan.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience, preferably in hospice, palliative care, or home health care.

  • Compassionate, patient-focused, and attentive to the needs of individuals in end-of-life care.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.

  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license for home visits (required).

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Previous experience working in a hospice or palliative care setting.

  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).

  • Bilingual skills (preferred but not required).
