We are seeking a skilled Data Privacy Director to join The Sage Group plc and its subsidiaries. In this role, you will be entrusted with spearheading our data privacy initiatives and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and best practices.

A day in the life:

As the Data Protection Director, you'll be at the forefront of advising and collaborating with crucial business stakeholders, including Data Ethics and Governance, Cyber Security, Product, Marketing, People, and IT. Your guidance will be instrumental in navigating legal complexities while aligning with Sage's commercial objectives. You will also be responsible for:

Pragmatic Advice: Provide practical and commercially-minded legal advice on privacy and data protection issues, empowering Sage to meet legal obligations while achieving its business goals.

Risk Evaluation: Collaborate with business stakeholders to assess and mitigate risks related to privacy and data protection, fostering a culture of compliance throughout the organization.

Legislative Awareness: Utilize your technical expertise to monitor and understand legislative developments, particularly in the realm of artificial intelligence. Stay closely engaged with Sage's activities in AI, ensuring that privacy and data protection risks are effectively managed.

What We Are Looking For:

We're seeking a Data Protection Specialist with international experience in advising large businesses. You should possess strong strategic thinking coupled with exceptional execution skills, capable of thriving in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. As a calm and autonomous individual, you'll excel in translating complex technical law into clear, concise language for stakeholders. Your ability to prioritise tasks effectively and lead teams through challenges will be crucial. Ideally, you'll have experience in software/technology companies. We are looking for an English law qualified lawyer with a data protection law specialism and good working knowledge of privacy and data protection law within other jurisdictions.
