As a Software Engineer your expertise will be crucial in driving the success of our advanced software projects for hospitals and surgeons.

The first product area you will be working on is our live surgical streaming solution, working on a native app in kiosk mode for use in the operating room, and the stream participation experience in the Touch Surgery app. You will be working alongside a team of cross functional capabilities, with experienced iOS engineers who can help your grow your skills further. As a manager, you will be responsible for the personal development of your reports and finding them opportunities of growth balanced with the needs of the business.

A Day in the Life

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and optimize native iOS (iPhone Operating System) solutions.

• Work in collaboration with a cross functional team to establish project objectives and goals.

• Annual performance reviews, career planning, and regular 1:1s with your reports.

• Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, from requirement gathering and design to deployment and maintenance.

• Identify how corporate policies can support your team.

• Utilize advanced Swift features to deliver high-quality, clean, and readable code.

• Conduct system tests to ensure software application functionality and performance.

• Document technical specifications, user guides, and process manuals.

• Maintain continuous integration with high unit and UI test coverage.

• Release the app to our users on a rota.

• Teach and learn from your fellow team members.

Must Haves

• Proven experience in iOS development using Swift using SwiftUI and UIKit

• Empathy and enthusiasm for working with your reports

• Ability to establish priorities, identify and solve complex problems, challenge the status quo

• Ability to effectively communicate abstract concepts to the team

• Familiarity in code versioning tools such as Git

• Strong unit testing and debugging skills

Nice to Haves

• Experience in line management, coaching, and mentoring

• Proficiency in RxSwift

• Experience with Jenkins CI

• Understanding software architecture design patterns

• Experience with Agile methodologies

• Knowledge of UI testing using XCUI and understanding its importance in the development process
