The Sales Enablement IDT portfolio supports the Global Lubricants and Sectors and Decarbonisation Classes of Business (CoBs) in Downstream, especially the largest accounts.

Our Sectors & Decarbonisation business is a new business created to profitably help our customers decarbonise sector by sector. Currently, about 85% of our carbon footprint comes from our customers’ emissions when they use our products. So we must have a role in helping our customers decarbonise: a mission of working with society to help it – and us - get to net zero.

Shell Lubricants is the global number one player for the last 14 years. We sell about 5 billion liters of lubricant every year, having a footprint in more than 100 countries. One in nine machines operate with a Shell lubricant and we want that to be one in seven!

What’s the role?

The Portfolio Manager Sales Enablement leads delivery of projects and the lifecycle management of applications (including the user adoption programme) in support of direct sales in Global Lubricants and Sectors & Decarbonisation Classes of Business, especially using Salesforce CRM solutions.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivery Management & Assurance: Orchestrates development lifecycles corresponding to both the technology and business vision and roadmaps. Drives fulfilment of agreed value from technology development and successfully manages demand across lifecycles, sourcing and requesting capability from across the organisation in line with Enterprise processes. Manages budgets appropriately and in line with business plans. Manages escalations, where required, to resolve fulfilment issues, orchestrating their resolution across organisational boundaries.

  • Enterprise Compliance: Shapes development and delivery scope, including all Product aspects, to comply to agreed Enterprise IDT standards. Determines and mobilizes opportunities to scale and replicate across the technology stack, driving automation strategies for cost optimization.

  • Value Generation & Protection: Ensures the delivery of value outcomes by applying investment discipline to IDT expenditure and rigour in benefits realization. Intervenes and escalates to senior leadership where return on investment is not being realized driving decision making on the resolution roadmap. Demonstrates significant commercial skill, role modelling behaviours that emphasise commercial mindset, customer centricity and competitive differentiation.

  • Stakeholder Management: Drives a One Team mindset; works closely with the IDT Manager and Product Managers to understand, align, restructure and shape how development and delivery scope aligns to Line of Business objectives and consumer expectations.

  • Business Intelligence: Demonstrates unrivalled understanding of the Global Lubricants and Sectors & Decarbonisation businesses and their customers, including strategic imperatives and desires. Recognizes and understands the impact of industry movements, new market entrants/competitor behaviours and consumer trends.

  • Innovation: Drives the consistent use of innovation methods and data driven insights across their delivery teams and contributes to new business models and proof of concept digital ventures.

What we need from you

We are keen to hear from candidates with strong and credible delivery track record of complex programmes or portfolio of projects, and with the following experience:

  • Significant experience in delivery of programmes or portfolio of projects with Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related discipline;

  • Professional certifications related to project or programme management (e.g. PMP, MSP, PgMP) and/or product management (e.g. SAFe);

  • Information and Digital Technology (IDT) (projects and applications) portfolio management skills (i.e. managing value, demand, planning and budgeting, and product lifecycle);

  • Knowledge and experience in using and managing Salesforce CRM offering comprising of a number of separate products (Sales, Service Marketing and eCommerce).

  • Affinity with technology and latest technology trends;

  • Comfortable with dealing with complexity and ambiguity; able to work comfortably across organizational boundaries to broker agreements and bring together the right capabilities at the right time;

  • Strong commercial mindset enabled by a solid understanding of the Lubricants Marketing and Sales businesses, their customers and the associated supporting technologies;

  • Ability to quickly establish a broad network within peer organisations, technology partners and thought leaders;

  • A strong sense for managing stakeholders across 360 degrees and balancing a proper level of reporting and alignment with working independently and proactively;

  • Resilience, courage and the willingness to challenge in order to obtain the best result for the business and the customer;
