As a Senior Supply Chain Manager, you will play an instrumental role in guiding managers across a range of central functions, from logistics to customer service and beyond, and addressing challenges with high potential for innovation across the business. Your work will make a difference to your organisation as you create solutions to often complex or ambiguous global challenges. From leading a team to implementing long-term plans, you will be an integral part of our future innovation, helping us continually redefine and offer the best customer experience.

Key job responsibilities

Engage senior stakeholders and managers and regularly update them on the progress of key programmes

Hire, develop, and lead a team of programme managers, offering mentorship and support to your team

Carry out team and organisational reviews and assess key performance metrics

Define data-led approaches to products and ways of working

Resolve business-critical and persistent problems

Define departmental strategies and structures

A day in the life

As we move forward with our plans, Senior Supply Chain Managers help organise and direct our efforts so that programme milestones and key deliverables are met. You’ll also play an active role in defining scope for complex programmes and initiatives, and you’ll present your analysis and recommendations to Directors and Vice Presidents to inform change at the most senior level.

You’ll manage a team of Programme and Project Managers who will work alongside a variety of tech, operations, and business stakeholders to drive business-critical programmes. You’ll challenge and guide the team to ensure the timely progress and completion of their deliverables, coordinate their efforts, and address a lack of traction or adoption where necessary. You will always be looking to the future and exploring how to create the most value for the business and the customer.

About the team

Amazon couldn’t deliver at pace without the Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team. As part of ATS, you’ll be welcomed into a diverse team that plays a central role in our success. Basic Qualifications

  • A degree

  • Relevant experience in creating or leading teams

  • Relevant experience in driving significant change management initiatives at all levels of a department, including creating business strategy and planning

  • Relevant experience in communicating and presenting papers to multi-level stakeholders and senior management

  • Advanced proficiency in written and verbal English

  • Advanced or Master’s degree

  • Relevant experience in outlining programme roadmaps, including anticipating bottlenecks and balancing business needs against technical and operational constraints
