Department/Product Overview:

The Professional Information Business (PIB) at Dow Jones plays a critical role in the delivery of key B2B products, providing our customers with information, data and analytics to help support and drive their key business decisions, and protect their organisations from risk.

Dow Jones Risk & Compliance is a global provider of third-party risk management and regulatory compliance solutions. Working with customers across the globe, it delivers research tools and outsourced services for onboarding, vetting and investigation to help companies address the risks and realities of wrongdoing such as bribery, corruption, organised crime, terrorism, drug trafficking and modern slavery.

Position Statement:

The Dow Jones Risk & Compliance business is fast growing with ambitious plans for further growth in order to fulfil the business’ full potential. The goal of the Strategy and Planning Director is to support the General Manager and the Risk & Compliance teams in developing and executing on these plans.

You will have a strong background in business planning and delivery and proven experience of achieving tangible results. Whilst this role will be required to carry out the day-to-day tasks efficiently, it is imperative the Director can think and act strategically.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Support the General Manager in developing and delivering the Risk and Compliance strategic business plan.

  • Coordinate the delivery of annual budget and forecasting process

  • Design and run a governance and business performance management framework.

  • Work with the General Manager to ensure we implement the optimum organisation structure and target operating model.

  • Work with the PIB Head of Communications to design and implement internal communications strategy.


  • An ability to shape and implement strategic change programmes through strong programme delivery and change management skills.

  • A passion for building and nurturing strong relationships with both customers and colleagues.

  • Experience of effectively managing and collaborating with senior stakeholders and strong ability to influence others.

  • Excellent written and verbal skills coupled with the ability to comfortably and confidently present to all levels within the business.

  • Be an independent problem solver that can make high quality judgments and decisions quickly with excellent organisation skills.

  • Detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects.

  • Ability to influence at all levels

  • Strong numerical skills.
