JPMorgan Chase Area Security Manager - Associate in Los Angeles, California

Job Description

Reporting directly to a Retail Region Security Manager within the California Division, the Region's Area Security Specialist will drive the tactical execution of security strategies that improve the operational effectiveness of the Retail Security program, and ensure the safety and security of Chase employees and customers within the Retail Regions of the California Division. The impacts of these efforts will ensure the appropriate risk based security controls and mitigating measures are in place within the 200 Chase branches across each region. The daily focus of the Area Security Specialist centers on strengthening the firms operational resiliency by maintaining intimate knowledge of the operational effectiveness of the physical and technical security tools used at each branch location. The ideal candidate for this role is a professional that is driven by curiosity, has the courage to pursue excellence, and has an unwavering passion to deliver a best in class safety and security product to our customers in the branch banking space (both employee and customer). Prior knowledge and expertise in large scale security programs will help, as will experience doing so in a large financial institution, but the absence of such experience shouldn't deter any motivated and aspiring security professional from joining this team. This is a customer facing field oriented role that possesses opportunity for significant impact.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Directly support the Regional Security Manager (RSM) for a specific retail region and be prepared to temporarily support multiple regions in the event that support is needed

  • Support the guard management program including but not limited to requesting coverage, processing invoices, tracking service issues, ensuring coverage data accuracy

  • Participate in physical security project activities, meetings, and field surveys

  • Handle safety and security issues stemming from incident reports

  • Identify and communicate risks and issues to management

  • Support the life cycle of security systems for existing properties and new-build construction

  • Engage with the Chase branch staff on a regular basis including providing security awareness training

  • Ensure security surveys are conducted in accordance with Retail Security standards and procedures

  • Conduct branch walkthroughs for construction related projects such as new builds and refreshes

  • Availability to respond after hours to certain critical incidents that require immediate triage - Must possess a cellular phone with the capability to support JPMC sponsored software

  • Frequent travel within the region (required), and periodic travel across the division (if needed) to execute filed operations

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • 3+ years of experience in a security / project management focused role

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent years of specific experience

  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • High degree of comfort in fast-paced dynamic / ambiguous environment

  • Flexible and comfortable working with multiple competing timelines/tasks

  • Ability to communicate succinctly both in writing and in speech

  • Experience following business processes and procedures

  • Proficiency with MS Office suite, especially Excel

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Knowledge of physical security technology systems a plus

  • Experience in information gathering, tracking, and consolidation

  • Experience with contributing to the creation of reports, dashboards, and presentations

  • Attention to detail and delivery oriented, able to effectively plan and track to prescribed timeline; excellent follow-through
