VCA Animal Hospitals Referral Coordinator in Los Angeles, California

Compensation: $18 - $25 / hr

Job Summary:

VCA ASEC is an established, 24-hr animal specialty and emergency hospital located in West Los Angeles. We are seeking an experienced, administrative professional with a passion for client relationship building. The referral coordinator will work to provide exceptional communication and assistance to our referring community, acting as the first point of contact within the hospital for primary care veterinarians and their representatives. They will assist in all outreach and referral communication from our hospital and will advocate for internal protocols that strengthen relationships with our referring community. They will assist in organizing VCA ASEC marketing initiatives as directed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 5+ years of customer service experience

  • 3+ years of assisting in an administrative capacity

  • 2+ years of specialty veterinary experience

  • Marketing experienced a plus

  • Thorough knowledge of the general practice veterinary profession

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Organized and dependable

  • Task-driven and focused

  • Must be relationship centered and people-oriented; someone that enjoys social settings and networking with others

  • Ability to take direction well and have attention to specific details

  • Must be able to multi-task and stay efficient in a fast-paced environment

  • Solid experience with computers and digital applications

Job Responsibilities - including but not limited to:

  • Facilitating calls and emails from primary care veterinarians and their representatives, handling their requests from start to finish.

  • Coordinate referral and transfer requests from primary care practices, working closely with all departments and hospital teams.

  • Medical records management.

  • Maintain marketing material requests.

  • Maintain hospital contacts and keeping log of outreach activities.

  • Local visits to hospital partners.

  • Assist in the planning and organization of continuing education events.

  • Assist with internal and community events.

  • Assist in social media campaigns.

Schedule:

  • Wednesday through Saturday, 7:30am - 6:00pm

  • 4 days a week, 10 hours a day

  • Some local travel and additional days may be requested for hospital visits and events.
