The Staff Research Associate will work closely with the Principal Investigator, to understand the genetic factors that contribute to an individual's susceptibility for disease and other factors that are clinically relevant-e.g. genetic predisposition for drug contraindications.

In this role, you will work to create innovative sequencing pipelines to analyze short and long read high throughput sequencing read data to identify complex genetic abnormalities in a pipeline that is the most cost effective with the most accurate results; create polygenic risk score models that are clinically relevant; work with researchers and clinicians to understand how to use and report genetic predisposition data to patients in the clinic; produce written reports, final executable code, and visual representation of results. Travel to appropriate scientific meetings to present results.

Monthly Salary Range: $5,374.70 - $8,643.23Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in biology or related field or equivalent experience. Working knowledge and experience with basic biology.

• A minimum of 3 years experience in biology or related area

• Working knowledge of next gen sequencing data analysis/computational biology.

• Experience using R, Shell, GitHub, Python.

• Understanding of DNA / RNA sequencing methods.

• Excellent communication skills to interact with other researchers and clinicians.

• Ability to work as a part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.

• Ability to think critically and demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
