Amazon Sr. Technical Program Manager, eero in Los Gatos, California

Description

eero is looking for a highly proficient, hands-on Technical Program Manager to help define and execute our next generation wireless networking features! The ideal candidate is excited to solve complex and ambiguous problems in new and growing markets, working across engineering multiple engineering and business areas, and has a strong sense of purpose and ownership.

Key job responsibilities

  • Gain good understanding of eero’s software development processes, gates and dependencies

  • Help project leads formulate plans and schedules, clarify and call out dependencies, and once the plans are agreed, be the source of truth and progress tracker for those plans

  • Ensure that scope and schedule changes are discussed, that clear decisions are made and communicated, calling out the changes

  • Generate schedules, program/project reports regularly for board audiences to understand the status and risk

  • Ensure that the status of programs you manage is clearly communicated, and that emerging risks or escalations get then needed visibility

  • Host program/project meetings, lead to conclusion, provide meeting minutes, and track action items for the team.

  • Lead team retrospectives that maximize learning. Incorporate improvements into our development processes and apply them to future programs.

  • Have very good communications skills, both oran and written

  • Be able to succinctly summarize complex issues, at the appropriate level of detail

  • Effectively work with remote teams, both in other US sites, and globally

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral

  • Ability to clearly and accurately summarize complex programs and problems, at the appropriate level of details

  • Some level of exposure to wireless networking, embedded platforms, and cloud-managed services

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

  • Software development experience

  • Previous exposure, as an engineer or program manager, to joint hardware-software development

  • Direct experience with embedded networking

  • Experience developing products for ISP (Internet Service Providers) and SME (Small and Medium Enterprise) customers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
