We are hiring an Accounts Payable Clerk for our growing team! The Accounts Payable Clerk will primarily be responsible for day to day financial transactions to include verifying, classifying, computing and recording accounts payable data. This position will be on-site in Louisa, Ky.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, and recording accounts payable data
Maintain accounts payable payment schedules and due dates
Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports
Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments
Pays employee expenses by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests
Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
Maintains historical records by filing documents
Prepares monthly sales tax reports
Prepares annual 1099 tax forms
Maintain a high level of confidentiality related to financial and client information
Receives and sorts mail by department
Participate in staff and state regulatory training as required
Adhere to program policies and procedures while maintaining a professional code of ethics
Other duties as assigned
Key Experience and Education Needed:
High School Diploma or GED required
Associates or Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field preferred
1-2 years of experience in the Accounting field
1 year of experience working with accounting software
Knowledge and understanding of recovery principles and recovery driven service system
Knowledge and experience with Sage 300 and Excel
Knowledge and experience with GAAP
Strong numeracy and analytical skills
Highly organized and detail oriented
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
