Job Description

The Combat Mission Systems business unit within BAE Systems, Inc is searching for a Weld Engineering Lead to support Weapons Systems production at multiple facilities in the United States.

In this role the Weld Engineering Lead will:

• Assess and influence contractual requirements and specifications; facilitate process/procedure updates to align with requirements

• Manage the development and implementation of Procedure Qualifications and Weld Procedure Specifications

• Provide proposals and justification for budgets, staffing, and capital investments

• Interface with Program and Technical customers to resolve complex fabrication issues

• Support Process Improvement initiatives related to Welding and Fabrication of Aluminum and Steel products

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Welding Engineering with a minimum 10 years of engineering experience; demonstrated performance in a technical leadership role

• Demonstrated capability to lead an engineering team in a manufacturing environment

• Experience developing and executing Fabrication, Welding, and Inspection/Acceptance requirements

• Experience interfacing with Customers and External Stakeholders

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Certification and experience working as an AWS Certified Welding Inspector a plus;

• Experience working with a DoD or other U.S. Government customer preferred;

• Proficient in AutoDesk/AutoCAD beneficial;

• Proficient in ProE/Wildfire software helpful.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $115100 - $195700

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
