We are seeking a skilled and highly effective Leader and Quality Engineering practitioner to lead a team of Quality Engineers and Quality Technicians to continuously advance best in class Quality Management procedures and processes to establish a Center of Excellence in Lowell Michigan. This individual will need to be able to navigate in a rapidly growing environment and interact with a wide variety of colleagues both on and off site, from a variety of locations around the globe.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the quality function from New Product Introduction through End of Life to ensure a proactive quality culture

  • Develop the appropriate organizational structure, resource plans and culture to support a continuously advancing Quality Management System

  • Develops, implements, and maintains a Quality Assurance System based upon the ISO quality systems model that will prevent or eliminate product defects and support the business plans of the company and maintain the facility’s ISO registration status

  • Analyzes adequacy of procedures, inspection methods and techniques, and implements improvements that will improve inspection effectiveness

  • Facilitates the Failure Analysis and Corrective Action System activities. This includes but not limited to 8D and 5why analysis. Will provide training, support, and direction to associates assigned to complete internal and external (customer) corrective actions

  • Actively lead the reduction of Customer CPR’s, Warranty, Cost of Quality and in-house scrap and waste

  • Set department objective and manage ongoing progress and performance in a timely and effective manner

  • Report on quality performance/initiatives on a regular basis to the Senior Leadership team.

  • All other duties assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience may be considered

  • 7+ years’ experience in a quality engineering role including 3+ years’ experience in a quality leader type role

  • Experience navigating through change in an evolving organization

  • Experience maintaining, conducting internal audits and facilitating external audits within the ISO9001:2015 Quality System. Experience with IATF strongly preferred.

  • Extensive experience in developing corrective actions with suppliers, manufacturing operations and customers with regards to complex quality related issues.

  • APQP experience with launching new products and production lines.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

  • Experience with product liability incidents is preferred.
