Position Description:

Performs administrative duties in the management and coordination of a large specialized project and program. Performs varied and complex administrative duties requiring independent judgment and the application of established policies and procedures. May provide supervision and direction to clerical, paraprofessional or professional staff members.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Assists in supporting the Professional MBA programs at Texas Tech University's Lubbock, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio locations. Travel required to the campuses and working during weekends.

  • Coordinate with the director to plan and maintain Professional MBA class schedules for Lubbock, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio.

  • Advise Professional MBA students in Lubbock, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio- complete semester registration for Professional MBA students per semester. Work with Professional MBA students with account holds to prepare for registration and work with off-step students on class schedules and degree plans

  • Coordinate with the director to create a program budget and monitor expenses related to Professional MBA. Assist the director in maintaining area budget reports as director by the Director of Professional Programs.

  • Distribute textbooks/course materials to students. Assist the Director with ensuring all students have the necessary course materials.

  • Coordinate with the lead administrator in organizing catering, space reservations, and all Graduate Professional program events, orientations, and graduation receptions. Manage the arrangements and implementation of the Professional MBA weekends in Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio. Working with catering, preparing class attendance sheets and student name tags, and working with onsite staff, vendors, and facilities to ensure events run efficiently.

  • Engage with students to support their academic and personal development. Build and maintain positive relationships with students to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Coordinate with the director to monitor and attain program objectives.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

Extensive computer knowledge (MS Excel, Outlook, etc.). Able to communicate both orally and in writing. Customer service and problem-solving skills are preferred, along with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Self-starter and attention to detail are essential.

Proficiency with Banner, Cognos, Sharepoint, Registrar Dashboard, ChromeRiver, Blackboard, and Texas Tech Systems.

The Jerry S. Rawls College of Business Administration is AACSB accredited and houses the School of Accounting that holds separate AACSB accreditation. The college offers the BBA degree with majors in accounting, energy commerce, finance, information technology, management, marketing, and supply chain management. Several formats of the MBA program are offered in full-time, weekend, and online modalities in Lubbock, the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Houston, and San Antonio. The College offers MS degrees in accounting, data science, finance, and marketing research and analytics. A Ph.D. in business administration is offered with tracks in accounting, finance, management, management information systems, and marketing. With a faculty of over 140 and a staff that exceeds 80, the college enrolls over 5,000 undergraduate and 800 graduate students.
