Performs routine pre-award and/or post-award sponsored programs activities associated with management and oversight of the life cycle of awards.

Major/Essential Functions:

  1. Perform cash management operations for sponsored projects, including claiming incoming wires and process cash deposits, reconcile and maintain cash clearing fund, and submit cash entry to apply to sponsored project receivables; review and implement improvement in cash management operations.

  2. Assist with collection efforts of sponsored project accounts receivable aging.

  3. Ensure University financial obligations are met by processing sponsor refunds and subaward payments.

  4. Assist the accounting team with documentation needs for sponsored project billings and a documentation needs for audits (internal or external).

  5. Other duties as assigned (assist with sponsored project record retention, testing new and existing systems, other team projects, and maintain position desk manual).

  6. Assist in completing strategic initiatives for Research Accounting in service to the goals & objectives of Accounting Services (AS) and the University.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications: Business-related degree, CPA or candidate, CRA/CFRA/CPRA or candidate.

Preferred knowledge or skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel training or experience; Ability to identify problems, evaluate options and implement solutions; Ability to communicate effectively in writing for the needs of the audience; Experience in research administration (including Federal regulations and institutional policy); Experience working in TTU specific systems (Banner, FiTS, TechBuy, BRS, Cognos, etc.); Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
