You may have also acquired the following skills:

  • Experience working with SolidWorks and/or SmarTeam applications.

  • Background in the development of field tooling, including underwater tooling applications.

  • Ability to develop cost effective, simple, yet robust, field deployable tooling.

  • Experience working in the commercial nuclear environment, and knowledge of generic, primary side, commercial nuclear disassembly and reassembly activities.

  • Good communication skills and problem identification/problem resolution skills.

You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As a Tooling Design Engineer in Lynchburg, VA, you will be part of the proven team in the Installed Base Business Unit. Your work will include:

  • Design specialized tooling to be used in PWR and BWR plants, specifically for reactor disassembly/reassembly and fuel movement.

  • Performs non-routine and varied engineering assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks and resolution of field problems.

  • Receives assistance and instructions on unusual or more complex features and possible solutions, as needed.

  • Ensures compliance with government, organization and customer engineering standards.

  • Independently evaluates, selects, and applies a variety of technical techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgement in making minor adaptations and modifications.

  • Develops new or adapted products, methods, systems, or models to provide added value solutions to customers.

  • Researches and assesses best practices, proposing methods and improvements.

  • Works on special projects, as directed

    Your Total Rewards Package

    The range of base salary for the position is between $70,000 - $92,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
