JOB REQUIREMENTS: Electrocardiograph Technician - Emergency Department - 90% FTE, Nights - University Hospital - 8797 DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Join the #1 hospital in Wisconsin! We are seeking an ECG Technician to: * Perform electrocardiographic (ECG) tests, including application of various arrhythmia monitors and electrocardiographic stress testing. * Educate patients on testing procedures. * Properly position patients, electrode application, and judge the quality of ECG tracings. * Facilitate stress testing under the supervision of cardiologist, APP, or clinical exercise physiologist. Work Schedule: 90% FTE, 36 hours per week. 8/12-hour shifts scheduled between the hours of 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM or 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Weekend rotation required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. Preferred - Technical or Associate's Degree in Healthcare related field. Work Experience: Preferred - One (1) year of Electrocardiograph Technician experience. Licenses and Certifications: Minimum - CPR certification Preferred - CCT, CRAT, or equivalent. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: * Ability to perform all required functions of the ECG cards, rhythm monitor devices, stress testing system, and ECG interpretation software. * Knowledge of the psychosocial needs of patients and families. * Ability to work with and maintain confidential patient information. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to document and communicate accurate patient observations, care, and outcomes of care. * Ability to triage multiple patient care or equipment related issues. * Strong problem-solving skills dealing with technical and interpersonal issues. * Ability to work in a team environment and to collaborate with a variety of staff members in a positive manner. * Ability to operate a computer. * Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism. Physical Requirements: Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
