The Furniture Repair Technician works to repair furniture, assists with furniture installs, repairs and installs window coverings, and assists the University Housing Upholsterer. We are looking for individuals with excellent customer service skills, who are open to learning, and know how to use sewing equipment and furniture repair tools. This is a great position for a someone with a background in Upholstery and/or repairs who wants to learn more! Responsibilities: Inspects, maintains, and repairs basic equipment and facilities to ensure property meets established standards and to prevent further damage. Assists with construction, and operational maintenance as needed. 35% Utilizes equipment to repair and maintain standard machinery, equipment, and facility property to prevent further damage and ensure optimal operation 10% Performs routine facility inspections and monitors cleanliness 15% Troubleshoots, escalates, and documents issues according to established policies and procedures 15% Receives, inspects, inventories, and distributes deliveries to appropriate entities under general supervision 5% Assists trades, crafts, vendors, and technical staff with construction, design, and operational maintenance as needed 10% Inspects, maintains, and installs furniture and window coverings 10% Uses industrial machines such as commercial stitching/sewing machines, foam cutters, and hemmers to measure, cut, and reupholster furnishings. Tasks: Communicates with staff to address needs and service requests. Transports supplies and furniture in efficient manner Provides support to the University Housing Upholsterer.
